Anthropologie/Franchescas Inspired Bracelet Tutorial

First of all my camera is fixed!!!!!! Woo Hoo!!

I have been so inspired to make jewelry lately. I came across a lovely store today while I was shopping down south it is called Franchescas.  It reminded me of Anthropologie without the hefty price tags. The jewelry was a-m-a-z-ing! I literally had to make a second stop before I left the mall.

I found this necklace the other day at a local thrift shop for around $5 and the ribbon was on clearance. I felt using the two different ribbons made the bracelet more interesting. And I still have the other half of the necklace for another project.

Too busy for breakfast biscuits

We still have a very busy schedule even in the summer and I am NOT a morning person. So every so often I make a batch of these biscuits to throw in the toaster in the morning. Because who has time to make bacon, eggs and biscuits during the busy week. They are one of the Hubbys favorite morning, afternoon or even evening snacks. They are so yummy and easy to make.

4 strips of bacon

5 eggs divided

salt and pepper

2 1/4 c. baking mix 

1 c. milk

1 c. shredded cheese

Preheat oven to 425. Cook bacon in frying pan and put aside to cool. Scramble 4 of the eggs in bacon grease and set a side as well. Mix 1 egg, milk, cheese, bacon (crumbled), and scrambled eggs to combine. Bake on a greased baking sheet for 10-14 minutes till golden brown. FYI I am sure you can freeze them if you want to make a double batch, because trust me you will wish you made a double batch! Enjoy!

From Old to New Statement Necklace

I used two older necklaces I never wear to make a lovely statement necklace. One came from Clares and the other was from Forever 21. They may have been around $12 for both.

All I used was some needle nose pliers. A girl needs her own tools!

I am so excited to wear this to a wedding next weekend. It will be perfect with my strapless butter cream eyelet dress and gold toned sandals. It really looks like it could have come from a fancy boutique.

Mossy Letter Mirror DIY

The mirror and letter was yet another Goodwill find. I purchased the moss at Michaels. 

I have seen a few versions of mossy letters on various blogs and when I found this mirror I knew it was destined for a mossy "M". 

I think it turned out very whimsical. I could see it at Anthropologie or Pottery Barn for like a million dollars but my version was less than ten! 

tickled by feather hair accessories

I was shopping at Forever 21 and I saw some gorgeous feather hair accessories. Thank goodness for phones with cameras because I have no memory at 27 years old, sad I know. But I knew I could recreate them myself and make them even cuter. I bought some feathers at Joanns but others I actually cut off a cat toy. Because the chickens wouldn't let me borrow some of theirs. I was being gentle! I am all about repurposing and reusing. When I see an item I don't look at what it is, I look at what it could be.

All I used is my handy glue gun, tulle, felt, a hair clip, feathers, elastic headband, and crystals. Easy peasy!

I dont know why but when I wear these I feel like dancing, which is weird because I cant dance.

Anthropologie Inspired Necklace Tutorial #2

Maybe one of these days Geek Squad will fix my camera and I will have some decent pictures for you all. Thank you for bearing with me in the mean time.

I drew a flower pattern on paper and I used that as my template. I cut two pieces of fabric for each flower. I used a thick cotton and sateen fabric in similar colors. The I sewed them together with beads in the center. I did a large flower and two small ones.

I cut a round piece of fabric to glue the flower on.

Then I glued the flowers on starting with the large size.

I worked on this for quite some time last night and I felt it lacked..... well, cuteness.

So I cut off the clasp and added a cream ribbon. Then I hot glued felt on the back of the flowers and glued on some "bling" buttons. I actually found these beautiful buttons on a shirt at the Goodwill.

I think I hit the cuteness mark.
