product review for oily skin

I have the most oily skin. Within an hour applying my makeup I get greasy.

Exhibit A.

Not so cute. Plus the oil makes me more prone to break out, extra not cute!

So, I was on a quest to end my shiny mirror like complexion.

I read a ton of reviews about Benefit Porefessional.

I love Benefit, so I grabbed this guy at Ulta to give it a try.

Benefit Porefessional

My thoughts:

~It is silky smooth.
~It definitely helps with the visibility of my (crater like) pores.
~It DOES'NT make me break out, which is a small miracle.
~It is a perfect primer for my BareMinerals.
~It helps absorb the oils on my skin.

Conclusion:

Where has this product been my whole life?
I love this stuff and it is now part of my regular daily beauty routine.

The next product I just happened to grab in the checkout line. Usually these impulse buys are a let down but the sales lady had great things to say about it and Ulta has a great return policy so I decided to give it a go. Boy I'm glad I did!

Urban Decay De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray

My thoughts:

~Its a light spray with no fragrance, which is fine with me.
~It set my makeup amazingly.
~It almost gives a light dewy look to my skin, which I love.
~It is amazing on my complexion, it sops up the oil and leaves my skin beautiful and matte ALL day.

Conclusion:

I l-o-v-e this stuff.
Another product I will use everyday and continue to buy forever!

Bonus:

Using both these products I have noticed my skin is breaking out less!

Anyone else have a favorite product for us shiny complected people?

The Missing Diamond Earrings

My heart sank.....

That yucky feeling in the pit of my stomach. Tears forming in my eyes.

I realized that I lost my diamond earrings!

I grabbed a flashlight and scoured the floor looking through every dust bunny in sight.

The Boys came in my room and asked what was wrong. I told them what I had lost and Caleb insisted on helping.

My sweet boys gave me encouraging words to calm my panic.

"It's okay mom, it will turn up, please don't cry."

Because nothing gets my Boys more empathetic than real tears.

My boys are typical boys. Rough. Tough. And tumble.

But when mom is in distress, like real distress. They can be sweet and sensitive.

Deacon, "How much do they cost?" Me, "ALLOT!"

"Mom, I have some money you can have?"

My distress turned into gratitude. Gratitude for my sweet boys. Boys who will encourage me and even give me their money, something that is precious to them.

Boys who care and love others.

I could not ask for more.

It is worth more to me than any diamond in the world!

P.S I did find my earrings!

The Tooth Fairy is coming!

Deacon lost his top tooth today after days of wiggling and pulling at it.

He was very proud!

How handsome is my little man?

DIY Chalkboard Towel Hooks

Found these wooden back hooks at the craft store on sale.
I thought it would be fun to paint them with chalkboard paint so the Boys could have their very own towel hooks.

A couple minutes of painting saves my sanity because I will never hear this again.
"He stole my towel MOM!"
