A very sneaky recipe for "Non Veggie Eaters"

My oldest son Caleb is a self proclaimed "Non Veggie Eater." But little does he know that is an untrue statement because I am a sneaky momma. Any veggie I can grate or puree is fair game to make its way into his food. Here is a yummy sneaky recipe for Blueberry and (shhhhhh!!! zucchini) Muffins.

I prepare the recipe as directed on the box. Then I have the Hubs distract the kids while I sneak in one grated zucchini and some extra blueberries.

Whaa La! My secret always makes me smile when I ask if he enjoys his muffin.

Driftwood Wreath Tutorial

Hey guys. Sorry its been a while since I have posted. Between school starting, company and motherly duties I have been a busy momma bee. I also had surgery last Monday and I am still slowly recovering. Taking it easy and resting for days on end is extreme torture for me. But hopefully by next week I will be back to normal. Not going to the thrift store is slowly killing me!

Plus I am suffering from blog with drawls in a major way! I was finally able to do this project this afternoon. I plan to put it in my bathroom which I am going to makeover and post soon, promise! My inspiration for the makeover is beachy cottage chic. This wreath will be perfect!

My baby is staring kindergarten and some motherly sentiment.

How is it possible that my baby is staring kindergarten? It is certainly the start to a new stage in our lives. I cant help the bitter sweet feelings welling up inside me. Of course I am thrilled to do simple things like grocery shop alone without being suckered into buying spiderman gummy snacks or Cheetos. But at the same time I will miss my little guy sitting in the shopping cart pretending to shoot innocent patrons with his pointer finger.  When I drop him off for his first day of school tomorrow there might be some tears, but I know it only prepare me for more moments like these slowly letting go of one stage, cherishing the old, but also looking forward to the new.

Goodbye my baby, you just said your first word and you will repeat that word one hundred times.

Goodbye my baby, you took your first step and you will get into everything.

Goodbye my baby, you are going to preschool and you will make beautiful pictures.

Goodbye my baby, you are starting kindergarten and you will have lots of friends.

Goodbye my baby, you won your first game and you are filled with accomplishment.

Goodbye my baby, you bought your first car and you will make your momma very nervous.

Goodbye my baby, you met a  sweet girl and you are head over heals  in love.

Goodbye my baby, you are getting married and it is the happiest day of your life.

Goodbye my baby, you have your first beautiful baby and now you will have to start saying goodbye.

My Love and My $30 Anthropologie Bird Dress

We attended a wedding recently and Caleb (he is only 8 by the way) took this picture of Kevin and I. I love it! And plus its not to often I get to see my Hubs in a tie, isn't he a looker? Its hard to see but my dress actually has cute little birds on it! It was on sale at Anthropologie for $30 reg. $140... Whoo Hoo (insert dorky happy dance)! I had to have it altered because I am a mini munchkin and they only had one and it was a size 4. Now it fits perfect and it was still way less than the original price.

Chalkboard Shark Wall

I finally got around to painting the Boys rooms this past week. I let them choose the colors, with some suggestions of course. They chose well and the rooms turned out great.

Caleb has a shark themed room so I got the idea to paint various sharks with chalkboard paint. That way he can be creative and color in the sharks how he pleases.

Fabulous Thrift Store Finds

I think the thrift store gods have been smiling down on me. I have had so many scores the past few weeks I had to show off a little.

Antique books and an antique iron I am using for a bookend.

A super sweet bird pillow.

Two crochet window curtains for my bathroom.

A lovely jewelry box.

How sweet is this ring holder?

A beautiful oil painting on a canvas only $1 people!!

A sweet vintage sheet, very Anthropologie if I do say so myself.

I am loving this lime green ottoman. Look at the detail on the legs!

Not one, but two of these fun topiaries.

How cute are these starfish knobs? I have a bathroom makeover coming soon and I will be using these sweet knobs.

More items for my bathroom makeover. Want a little hint.... "Beachy Chic" will be my inspiration.
