My tattoos and some great life advice

One thing you might not know about me, I have three tattoos. Two of which have deep meaning to me and one "I turned 18 and I can! so I did!"

I don't regret any of them not even the "I turned 18 and I can! So I did."  (I decided to opt out on a pic of that one because I don't want 100+ people staring at my tushy). It's not horrific (thank goodness), it's an abstract sun with a celtic knot around it. The funny thing is I am not even Irish. I picked it out of the tattoo book in my 18th birthday. Believe it or not I was quite the rebel in my day.

My favorite of them all  is my skeleton keys on my wrist. I got this one about 2 years ago.
The middle one is for my wonderful and loving husband. The one on the left is for Caleb and the right is for Deacon, my sweet little guys.

Each one is unique and individual just like their own personalities.
I chose my wrist so I can see them every day.
Some people "wear their heart on their sleeve."  But I wear the keys to my heart on my sleeve.

My foot tattoo is a funny story. On my 21st birthday Kevin and I went to Reno. The casino we stayed at was having a tattoo convention. On a whim Kevin decided he wanted to get tattooed. Well, we only had so much cash (I'm cheap) and I thought it would be fun for us to get one together. So I asked if he could throw in a little foot tattoo for free. The tattooist agreed and asked his tattoo buddy if he could do my foot while Kevin was getting his back tattooed. The buddy reluctantly agreed rolling his eyes (this should have been a warning sign for me). I sketched a small floral tattoo with some twirly vines. And he tattooed away. The idea and shape was somewhat what I wanted, but that was about it. The vines were not pretty and twirly and the flowers more resembled mangled starfish than the dainty flowers I drew. It was a disaster. The moral of this story? Don't, I repeat, DON'T ever get a buy one get one free on a tattoo!
Life lesson learned!

Finally last summer I had it covered up with a sparrow and orchids climbing up my ankle. I added the text Jeremiah 29:11 which is my life verse (also under my blog header). I love it! It hurt like nobodies business, but it was worth it. No more mangled starfish!

I want more tattoos, lots more. I love them! I would get half sleeves if my hubby would let me. But I figure he looks at me more than I have to look at me, so I value his opinion.

My next one I plan to get is a paisley pattern in black with white ink highlights on my side torso and back. Very classic and timeless. That one is husband approved!

Any tattoo stories you all want to share?
Love to hear!

Blessings, Nicole

Awesome stories, Nicole! I have 4. A lower back tattoo that is a tribal butterfly. It was a temporary tattoo that Doug and I found on our honeymoon at Disneyland. My 2nd tattoo was my boys' footprints from the hospital with their names in Hebrew on my right foot/ankle. That one is by far my favorite. Plus it gives me a reminder of my sweet angel baby, Reuben! The same day I got the footprints, I got a Celtic design wedding ring. I live not having to worry about a ring! Then this last summer, my girlfriends and I all got the same dragonfly tattooed on our left ankle. Thn right before Christmas we went in to add Romans 5:3-5 on it, but I found out the week before that I was pregnant so guess I'll have to wait on that one! I'm with you, I don't regret any of my tattoos. They all mean something to me, and I can't wait to get more!

Aren't they so addicting! I can think of three I want off the top of my head. Yours sound awesome! I would like to get a small cross on the inside of my finger. I like the idea of a ring tattoo sounds so neat!
